J. Frederick Dormouse lives in a bookstore and loves to read. When he finds out that the owner, Mr. Bradbury, is going to the Antiquarian Book Fair, he wants to go along. He stows away and once there, he happens upon a celebration of characters whom he has only read about. When he is found out, he says he’s “only a reader.” It turns out that’s a big deal.
